Hardwood Flooring is a Great Investment for Any Home!

The key benefits that people should really know about and experience when they purchase new hardwood flooring.

Life Long Investment: There's not a ton of items or things you can say you'll only buy once in your life, but real hardwood floors could be one of them. People have an inherent sense that wood floors should last a long time and they also know they won’t go out of style. In addition, we are constantly asked how many times our floors can be refinished so people have a sense that this is a long-term investment. People not only buy hardwood flooring because of it's natural beauty but also as an investment. Wood flooring hasn't gone out of style in over 5 centuries, and, when well cared for, they can withstand over 100 years of abuse in a home, just ask Thomas Jefferson about the wood floors at his home in Monticello.

Creator of Trend: Hardwood floors literally transcend trend. They have been in use for hundreds of years and yet they remain the floor of choice for the affluent and first time homeowners alike. How many real estate listings use the phrase “hardwood floors throughout”? Whether you have a 100 year old floor that you’ve just refinished or a newly installed wood floor, either one will turn heads. It takes something or someone remarkable to define classic style. Thomas Jefferson's home in Monticello, to this day, exhibits the original wood floors installed in 1803. In any setting, at any time, wood floors define both classic style and current fashion.

True Natural Beauty: Hardwood floors bring a sense of nature indoors, and not in the raw sense of the word, but rather in natural beauty and elegance. If you admire a fantastic painting you may try to imagine the mindset and the inspiration that moved the artist to create such beauty. One fantastic feature of wood is the notion that this beautiful specie was not created in the mind of an artisan but rather in the mere existence of a tree. A masterpiece of nature. Just as no two snowflakes are alike, each wood floor and plank is a uniquely beautiful creation. Natural. Beautiful.

Eco Friendly: Wood floors are renewable. With the sustainable practices of forestry set in place in the US, the nations forestry hardwood inventory has more than doubled since 1950. Adding to the fact that producing items from hardwood are much more energy efficient than production cycles in steel, aluminum, glass, brick or concrete. Wood floors are sustainable and carbon neutral. People should know that wood floors are environmentally friendly. If consumers truly knew how eco-friendly hardwood floors are they would be even more drawn to them. When trees are harvested at maturity they essentially become carbon batteries, storing carbon for life while at the same time beautifying a home. If left to fall and rot in the forest, trees then move from being carbon consumers to carbon emitters.

How To Install Laminate Flooring, Quick 6-Step Overview for Installing Laminate Flooring

How to Install Laminate Flooring - This is a Quick 6-Step Overview on Installing Laminate Flooring.

Materials and Tools You'll Need: Well the obvious first material you need is our laminate flooring, which you can find at http://ehardwoodflooring.com/laminate-flooring/ , also add the following items to your list.
transition moulding, roofing felt, scissors, finish nailer, tape measure, rubber mallet, miter saw

Quick 6-Step Instructions To Follow:

1. Follow these tips before installation: - Use fold and lock laminate floor. Running the hardwood boards perpendicular to floor joists prevents them from sagging in the future. - Leave a 3/8-inch gap between the walls and the flooring to aid in installation. You can cover this gap later with trim. - Leave the hardwood flooring material in the house for 10 to 14 days to acclimate to the room's environment. This will limit the amount of natural expanding and contracting the flooring will go through in its lifetime.

2. If the original floor isn't level, use a self-leveling flooring system. Mix the self-leveling liquid and pour it in the part of the floor that dips. When the self leveler dries, begin on the hardwood flooring.

3. Roll out the 15-pound roofing felt as a moisture barrier to prevent water damage in the sub floor.

4. Start laying out your hardwood flooring. The planks go down easily and just lock together. Quick Tip: Run an entire length along a wall first and note any cuts that may need to be made.

5. Stagger the boards to give them extra strength and beauty, tapping them in with a rubber mallet.

6. Install the transition piece using a tap hammer. Checkout our full step-by-step instructions on "how to install hardwood flooring" and "how to install laminate flooring" at http://ehardwoodflooring.com/
